  • All CE can be completed online — no live/in-person requirements
  • CE must be entered individually in the CE Tracker within DELPROS (you do not upload certificates, but you must list each course)

APRN Requirements

  • 30 hours of CE (same as RN, plus additional requirements per specialty)
  • APRN license expires on the same date as your Delaware RN license
  • Must renew your RN license before renewing APRN
  • If you do not hold a Delaware RN license, APRN expires September 30 of odd years

Delaware-Specific Notes

  • Compact state. If Delaware is your primary state of residence, you may hold a multistate license. Nurses from other compact states can practice in Delaware on their multistate license without a separate Delaware license.
  • Self-attestation at renewal. You attest to CE and practice hour compliance. Certificates are not uploaded — but you must enter each course in the CE Tracker in DELPROS.
  • Random audits. A percentage of licensees are randomly selected after renewal for audit of CE and practice requirements. Retain all documentation.
  • Workforce data requirement. The Board requires nurses to provide workforce data upon renewal and reinstatement.
  • Late renewal: Accepted up to 60 days past expiration with a 50% late fee surcharge. After 60 days, your license lapses and you must apply for reinstatement.
  • Inactive status available if you're not practicing. Must request inactive status before the late renewal period ends.
  • Renewal notices sent by email only. Keep your email address current in DELPROS.
  • No paper applications accepted. All renewals processed through DELPROS online system.
