Wyoming EMT, AEMT & Paramedic License Renewal Requirements
Wyoming EMS licenses are regulated by the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), under the Wyoming Department of Health. Wyoming has a 2-year renewal cycle with specific content area requirements and a 50% cap on distributed (online) education.

Required Content Areas
- Airway Management - basic and advanced airway, respiratory emergencies
- Pediatrics - patients under 18
- Trauma - traumatic injury patients
- Medical - medical emergencies
- Elective - operations (ambulance safety, ICS, MCI, documentation, scene safety, etc.)
Wyoming-Specific Notes
- 50% cap on distributed education (DCME). No more than half of total hours can be online/asynchronous.
- IEMT (Intermediate EMT) is a Wyoming-specific level above AEMT.
- NREMT not required for state renewal but accepted for reciprocity.
- CME hours must be documented in OWLS.
- CAPCE-accredited courses accepted.
- College courses accepted if directly related to EMS.
- CPR required for all levels; ACLS for IEMT and Paramedic.
How to Renew
- Complete required CME hours across content areas (max 50% DCME)
- Maintain current CPR (and ACLS if IEMT/Paramedic)
- Document all hours in OWLS
- Submit renewal application through owls.wyo.gov
