Key Notes

  • 2-year cycle for all levels.
  • Active vs. Inactive status. Inactive providers still complete CE but skip skills verification.
  • CAPCE-accredited courses accepted.
  • NREMT does NOT auto-renew state licenses. State requirements may differ.
  • Recertification by exam is an alternative to the CE pathway.
  • CPR at healthcare provider level required.
  • Lapsed certification must be regained before most states will renew your state license.

How to Renew

  1. Complete NCCP CE hours (or pass recertification exam)
  2. Obtain skills verification (active status)
  3. Maintain current CPR
  4. Log in to nremt.org and complete application
  5. Pay recertification fee
