Nevada-Specific Notes
- Birthday-based expiration (since September 2023). New and renewed certifications now expire on the provider's date of birth, not to exceed a 2-year period. Existing providers transition to this schedule at their next renewal.
- Clark County is separate. EMTs working in Clark County (Las Vegas metro) must be certified through the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), which has its own certification process and fees. State certification applies outside Clark County.
- SOAP portal required. All applications must be submitted through the State Online Application Portal.
- CAPCE-accredited courses accepted.
- Ambulance Attendant license must also be renewed if you hold one.
- State CE hours are lower than NREMT at the EMR and EMT levels (12 and 24 vs. 16 and 40).
- Certification fee (state): $10 initial; renewal fees vary.
- Clark County fees: Certificate issuance $37; renewal $36; attendant license (EMT/AEMT) $61; attendant license (Paramedic) $99.
