Montana-Specific Notes
- NREMT required for initial licensing. All Montana EMS personnel must be NREMT-certified before they can be licensed. Once licensed, you may choose to maintain NREMT or use the state CE pathway for renewal.
- March 31 expiration. All Montana EMS licenses expire on March 31 of the renewal year.
- CAPCE-accredited courses accepted.
- Rural state considerations. Montana's large rural geography means many providers rely heavily on online and distributive CE. These are accepted under the NCCP model.
- No physical license cards. Download and print from the online portal.
- Refresher courses are an alternative to accumulating individual CE hours.
