Mississippi EMT, AEMT & Paramedic Certification Renewal Requirements
Mississippi EMS certifications are regulated by the Office of Emergency Medical Services and Acute Care Systems (OEMSACS), under the Mississippi State Department of Health. Mississippi requires NREMT certification and follows the NREMT NCCP model. Mississippi is a member of the EMS Compact.

Mississippi-Specific Notes
- NREMT certification required. Mississippi requires current NREMT certification. State license expiration is set to coincide with NREMT certification expiration.
- EMS Compact member. EMS clinicians with a valid license in any Compact member state have an immediate "Privilege to Practice" in Mississippi and all other member states.
- eLicense portal available for EMT and Paramedic recertification applications.
- Begin recertification 3–4 months early. OEMSACS recommends starting the process well before your expiration date.
- EMS Driver certification is also managed by OEMSACS.
- In-person services available. Certifications can also be processed by visiting the OEMSACS office or calling (601) 576-7380.
- Processing fee: Credit/debit cards are assessed a $3.00 + 2.2% processing fee.
- CAPCE-accredited courses accepted for NREMT NCCP CE.

- Submit recertification application
- Pay the renewal fee
