  • EMT-3: Limited advanced cardiac life support and additional medications. Not recognized outside Alaska.
  • AEMT (Advanced EMT): Added to Alaska's recognized levels in 2018. Aligned with the national AEMT level.
  • MICP (Paramedic): Licensed through the State Medical Board. Must operate under a physician medical director sponsor.

  • Paramedics without a medical director sponsor may not exceed the scope of practice of EMT-1.
  • CE does not require pre-approval but must meet Alaska's CE guidelines. CAPCE-accredited courses are accepted.
  • Medical director sponsorship form is required for EMT-2, EMT-3, AEMT, and Paramedic levels.

How to Renew

  1. Complete all required CE hours for your level
  2. Obtain medical director sponsorship verification (EMT-2 and above)
